Feels like a fluff piece. 100 microwatts of power at 15x15x15mm means its applications are very limited. Given that its nuclear I assume it will have diminishing power generation over time.<p>A regular RTG like the ones used in voyager produce 150w, and to get the same power generation from this system would mean 150,000x the scale to produce the same power. Almost seems like the power figure is wrong in the article.<p>Even a coin cell battery has something like 600,000 hours of run time at a power draw of 100 microwatts.<p>If they can keep growing the tech it could be viable, even their 2025 prediction has 150w of generation at 150cm cubed... That is a massive battery.
