It&#x27;s great to see such a frank and concise description of this event and so soon after it happened. And very Wandel-esque to see the impressively detailed timeline pieced together from various sources, not least of which is a Raspberry Pi motion detecting time-lapse camera.<p>A lot of people do the opposite (share as little as possible) when they are the victim of a scam&#x2F;con but I think sharing the story has a considerable positive impact on society and likely, I hope, the individual. To be clear, I&#x27;m not complaining about victims not wanting to tell everyone about it, it&#x27;s very understandable.<p>By the way, if you&#x27;re reluctant to click on a video link because you don&#x27;t like obnoxious Youtuber cliche videos[0], Matthias Wandel is very much not that.<p>The earlier video (when it first happened) got posted a couple of times, with a handful of comments on one submission[1].<p>[0] e.g. <i>&#x27;you&#x27;ll never believe why I never expected what the truth about Santa in Minecraft was!1!!&#x27;</i><p>[1] <a href="https:&#x2F;&#x2F;news.ycombinator.com&#x2F;item?id=39182122">https:&#x2F;&#x2F;news.ycombinator.com&#x2F;item?id=39182122</a>
