Im less than a minute in and already there are some rather interesting tidbits - not so much "Oh I didn't know that about Thailand" more, interesting about the actual video itself.
(a) The video is blocked in Thailand (works via a SOCKS proxy though). Not super surprising why though.
(b) I don't want to call out just the narrator on this, because my own English speaking friends do it too, but the way foreigners pronounce Pattaya is really grating, even to someone who barely speaks the language (me). If anyone is interested, it's not "pa-tai-ya", as he says at the beginning of the video, it's "putt-a-ya".
(c) As mentioned, I got less than a minute in, and the reason I stopped is because the translation of Wolfgang the German sex tourist (sounds like a character name from Eurotrip, I know) already sets the tone for the sort of views it's portraying:
> These girls aren't really prostitutes, they call themselves bar girls.
Right, sure, and Tony Soprano wasn't really a mobster, he called himself a waste management consultant.
---
Ok, curiosity got the better of me. I managed another three minutes or so... I wondered if I was premature in my earlier presumptions about old Wolfgang.. He's currently telling the interviewer that no no, this isn't just a business transaction - there's a "relationship" there, in spite of the fact that he pays for her time, she doesn't speak either English or German, and when asked directly about this topic - with the option to respond in Thai, she chooses to say nothing...
