it&#x27;s like a parallel world.. all of my machines are Linux, so I would never even start searching for a tool like that - most of the times, &quot;file&quot; is sufficient, and if this is not enough, then there is &quot;binwalk&quot; and&#x2F;or manual examination. And if I did need a better version, I&#x27;d search for open-source one on Github first.<p>But here we have a tool which someone has been working on on for last 8 years, (at last doing database updates). It is fully closed-source (&quot;freeware&quot; for non-commercial use only), and is not hosted on github and seemingly uses no git at all. It has its own unusual archive format (specifically it reuses RIFF which is normally used in media files), and Windows-style options (starting with &#x2F;). The discussion is on forum instead of some sort of bug tracker &#x2F; code forge.
