New AI Amazon Microphone on delivery trucks monitors for obscene language

I've never been clear on how Amazon's delivery contracting works exactly. I think Amazon doesn't employ any of these drivers directly, and instead just publishes rates that they're willing to work with "delivery partners" for, prompting a ton of companies to spring up in order to contract with Amazon for handling deliveries (these pop-up companies are then on the hook for any labor violations instead of Amazon, which is exactly what Amazon wants).
Anyway, my question here is whether or not these microphones are mandates from Amazon, or if they're the policy of some particular contracting company.

I wish they’d monitor for drivers blasting foundation rattling music. My Amazon delivery driver is a genuine public nuisance.
