If we&#x27;re being honest, no country will.<p>&gt; ITIF’s report found that, quite frankly, this stuff is hard. &gt; &gt; &quot;Fabricating semiconductors is perhaps the most complex manufacturing activity humanity undertakes,&quot; wrote the study authors.<p>These processes are trade secrets requiring years of expensive iterative R&amp;D. You can&#x27;t skip over years of internal knowledge building by just throwing money at it. Just because the ruling&#x2F;capital class wants all this chip fabrication infrastructure doesn&#x27;t mean civilization is obligated or even capable of making it happen.
