I'm a huge SaaS detractor myself, but you'd be silly to say that VPN companies are competing against website hosts under a different label. They're different businesses with different expectations and concerns. The same is true about AI, which is why it's pretty stupid to make the argument that AI is all just branding. Google's AI cloud is not the same as OpenAI's, which is not the same as Meta's which is not the same as Tesla's.<p>And like... isn't AI <i>actually</i> differentiated by technically distinct strategies? BERT and GPT-2 are not created equal, nor is LLaVA or any of the MoE models. They're all strategically discrete approaches that yield different results.<p>Maybe AI is a little like soda or craft beer. But water? Hmmm...
