I keep hearing from a bunch of folks that AI isn't really that big or that it's just another tech fad.
People keep pointing out to IoT or Data Science being a total snoozefest a couple years back.
Why is it important they agree with you about the import of AI?
A good sales pitch might be based on shared benefits. How is AI going to make their life easier like it does yours? where can you share an improved experience? where can they see the benefits to them and how can you demonstrate that?
The filmed entertainment industry is pretty massive and AI is going to make a big impact there (for better or worse), that's probably something most folks can understand. CGI is already used everywhere and generative AI takes this trend much further.
It's not even agreed upon that we have AI at all right now. Just because something can produce text that looks like it was generated by a human, doesn't mean it's "intelligent".
Some of think AI being big is mostly hype. Why aren't we seeing stories about big corporations laying off huge numbers of workers because they are no longer needed due to AI?
AI can be both: huge and a tech fashion.
Whenever I see crappy companies pushing their AI marketing, it feels like another fad.
And lots of companies are going to produce shit AI solutions that are a net loss.
