It is remarkable to me, in middle age, that people today have forgotten the terrible effects of highly contagious diseases and the minor miracle that vaccinations were in the polio (1955) and measles (1963) eras, and the radically positive effects (with minimal issues) the polio and measles vaccines had. There's this "maybe we don't need the shot" mentality today that seems solely to do with... vibes, I guess. There is some sort of cultural amnesia that happens every few generations that is very dangerous.
