The current implementations are rather ridiculous, you either get a giant pop-up where you can at least say no or - which is more prevalent in my experience - you get a little a message saying we are using cookies whether you like it or not, you can close this by clicking on the &quot;Accept&quot; button.<p>What if sites would be required to request similarly to camera&#x2F;microphone access? This way, users would get a consistent experiences across the web and also, developers would have to actually prepare for both responses.

Yes: not many, but some sites have realised they don&#x27;t need cookies at all (and hence avoid the whole consent thing)<p>Luckily <i>those</i> are the sites I wish to visit.

I don&#x27;t think so but they waste tons of people&#x27;s time every day in the world... they should just default to: no, I don&#x27;t want cookies that aren&#x27;t required for this site&#x27;s basic functionalities to work as intended.
