There’s a much better known Smarthome company called “Switchbot” which popularized this type of product, but they use Bluetooth instead of Zigbee. They even open-sourced the control protocol.
I had a few in a rental where the landlord asked me not to install smart switches. They were convenient, but of course suffered from huge lag compared to Zigbee bulbs. I wish I had some at the time that could’ve been Zigbee integrated, since I used ZigBee elsewhere.
I have these - they are fantastic and work on normal wall light switches. I rent so I can't install smart switch panels, so these stick on. They're like $20 for the hub and $10 for each switch. "Hey google turn off the lights". I don't know what zigbee is, but the little mothership hub is on my wifi.
There's dozens of vendors selling these, they were very useful for automating things around the office in a job I had, for example they set it up to turn the lights on at the start of the day, to turn the aircon on, to open the entrance door when any of the workers did something on the phone (IIRC send a Slack message? or maybe we had an app, don't remember TBH), to automatically lock the door (with a "turning" one).
I've thought of buying one to be able to leave my key at home, but kinda scared of them going wrong and being stuck out.
Every now and then I have an idea for a product or tool, and I decide nobody would ever want it. And then I see this. I had an idea for a device that would unplug cables from power strips remotely. Seemed too analogue, we have smart strips now and they accomplish the same task I had in mind. Yet here we are with a remote "button pusher."
