I don&#x27;t really understand the Japanese obsession with removing human contact everywhere.<p>I&#x27;ve seen videos of restaurants where you sit down in a closed booth, order from a touchscreen, and the food comes out of a slot. It&#x27;s so weird. This doesn&#x27;t seem like cost optimization through automation because behind the wall people are still working, it was just human contact avoidance for the sake of it.<p>Here in Spain we enjoy dining with many people and this kind of automated service would be so clinical and terrible. I&#x27;m glad I don&#x27;t live in Japan :)
