Ask HN: Has anyone found a nice cross platform alternative to Authy?

1 pointsby atif089about 1 year ago
With Authy's desktop app sunsetting, I'm on the hunt for a reliable cross-platform alternative that allows me to manage my 2FA codes on both my Android device and PC.
I know some of you security enthusiasts might suggest otherwise, but I still prefer having my 2FA software on my PC and willing to trade security for convenience

Calling on Team @Authy: If like me you're gutted about the "End of Life for Twilio Authy Desktop Apps, Effective March 19, 2024". Just relax and install BlueStacks Android emulator for Windows on your desktop. Then install Authy, & you have a crude but effective workaround.
I posted the above on Twitter in February.

I've used https://www.enpass.io for many years. Much better experience than Authy.
If you don't like storing 2FA with passwords in the same place, you can use Enpass exclusively for 2FA and use an alternate password manager.
I've personally grown to enjoy the convenience of having both 2FA and passwords auto-filled for me.

I simply paid for Bitwarden which offers the option of storing and generating otp codes

Not helpful to you directly, but the iPad OS version runs on Apple Silicon Macs.
