And it's worth every penny to Google. Apple users (in the US anyway) have more disposable income and advertisers will pay for those eyeballs.

What a shame. Apple is basically the only company with the resources to take on Google without needing to vacuum personal data.

why?<p>Is Microsoft going to pay 20B to put Bing there? Would Apple users accept that? (probably, they accept every other abuse). Is Apple going to set the default to something else for free?
