A major advantage I discovered accidentally: Wi-Fi keeps running at full speed. Even though my first choice of smart home devices was Tasmota (ESP chips on Wi-Fi), after adding a significant amount of these I started noticing Wi-Fi quality deteriorate. Since then, I started phasing out Tasmota devices and adding Z-Wave devices and no more Wi-Fi problems whatsoever. So, right now, my number one choice are Z-Wave devices even though my Home Assistant server has access to all of them (Z-Wave, Zigbee, EnOcean, Tasmota, Matter ...).
