Ask HN: Google Ads is suspending my account over "Malicious Software"?

1 pointsby yoouareperfectabout 1 year ago
Hey HN, how are you doing?
I'm in the midst of launching my startup and thought of creating some google ads.
However, after 4 hours of setting up conversion tracking directly. I'm being hit with this suspension out of the blue.
I just can't understand it and Google's support is extremely cryptic on what's going on.
My stack is Next.js on Render.
My best guess for the issue is that I'm using Hotjar and Posthog for screen recording and product analytics measurement.
Could that be it?
I'm really baffled, I'm a solo founder and was really counting on being able to run Google Ads to get some momentum.
Thanks in advance

Can you link to your website? Maybe it's about the website itself, not the tools you are using on it.
PS: If you want to avoid both Hotjar and Posthog, you can go with a self-hosted solution like UXWizz, maybe it is less likely to have issues with ads if you don't send external requests
