I&#x27;m 467533, managed to remember my password -- haven&#x27;t used ICQ in &gt;20 years. I&#x27;ll pop online periodically from now until the shut down. Say hi!

Right before the AIM shutdown, I managed to log back into my account from the early 2000s.<p>A crazy time capsule of bad user names. Big shame aol never figured out how to monetize it. AIM could have become what slack and teams are today.

Fond memories chatting to my non technical friends and spamming their inboxes using software that was doing god knows what to my PC.<p>For my location&#x2F;social circle ICQ was the first piece of chat software outside of IRC that gained mainstream adoption.
