I feel that with keyword-based or other automated screening of applications, there is a strong potential for words that you might use inadvertently in a resume that will immediately make you ineligible for many employers at once. Presumably screening software all use a small number of independent (or dumb) keyword lists or criteria.
For a similar example, if you have a sufficiently unusual email address you will run into the same misunderstanding of what email addresses are at many places. Your address is "good" but runs into the same stupid bug at many servers or organizations.
Is there a service somewhere that will screen and score and explain your personal "standard" application for such words or phrases or features? That would be helpful in these cases where there is a feeling that "something is wrong" but it's hard to tell what is wrong in the approach.
Honest question, are articles like this propaganda to make people accept less than ideal working conditions? I feel like I am constantly inundated by posts like this. Never do I see anything to contradict it. There is no real conclusion or solution proposed in this article. I have seen Reddit posts with more substance.
The article may as well be titled, “Work hard or this could be you!” And I see it in the news feed every week, if not every day. A constant reminder of what happens if you don’t get rich by the time you’re old.
