itch.io has basically failed in their initial goal to be a competitive videogame storefront. If you're an indie PC game developer, you still have to be on Steam, that's all there is to it.<p>But what's cool about itch is that they'll also distribute just about anything game-related: game assets, tabletop RPGs, homebrew retro console games. They've been doing a pretty good job with that kind of stuff.
