Ask HN: Scrcpy but for two Linux desktops?

1 pointsby notjulianjaynes12 months ago
I think the application scrcpy (Screen Copy) which mirrors an android device's display on a host computer, through USB or Wifi, without needing to do anything to the phone besides have USB debugging turned on, to be pretty incredible.
It's saved my ass a few times when I've managed to smash a phone screen and need to export important information. I've even made a phone call from an android where the screen was completely dead using scrcpy.
To the extent that Android is based on Linux, why can't I do the same with my laptop connected to my desktop. No remote desktop solution I've tried has proven as convenient or low latency as scrcpy and I'm wondering if there's an equivalent screen copy application for an x86 device.
