Hey folks!
I'm curious to what CRM tools early stage startups are using nowadays. Options like Braze or Iterable were great a few years ago, but they now cater towards mid-stage and enterprise, somewhat out of reach with their prices.
I dunno if I have a lot of tolerance for people complaining that their CRM costs too much.
Consider Salesforce.com which used to start at $65 per month per seat and go up to a moderate multiple of that, say about $250 a seat per month.
I know now they have different pricing plans (marketing cloud priced at $1500/month/org, not per seat), but compare that to what a salesperson costs. If they get paid $100,000 that is $8k a month but overhead makes it a lot more than that. If a tool organizes $8k a month worth of worth it really doesn't seem crazy to spend $200 on it if it really does what it supposed to do and is part of a sales and marketing plan that works.

If you want a pure crm- without marketing automation- hub spot has a free option. If you want to engage the users in your crm hubspot also has a startup discount that can reach 90% for the first year. Check out intercom as well, it can function as a budget crm and mailer in addition to live chat. I hope this helps!
