Sid Meier's Civilization VII

I'm curious, does this require a 2K account or just require it for online play. Because of this account is required for single player and I won't be buying this, and I own every other version of civilization

If anyone is curious to try one of the Civs out, looks like Civ IV is currently $3 until the 21st on Steam
