I love this as an American!<p>One of the things I learned at the end of the Cold War is America needs something external to wage "war" against in order for us to not devolve into the nonsense we see now. Of course, I'm hoping that "war" is a competitive war like we had with Japan in the 80s and 90s - which was productive - and not a Cold War like we had with the Soviet Union, which while having its productive moments, there were also a lot of counterproductive moments, not to mention a lot of stress and angst.
