I'm worried about cases like these. They will set major precedents for what's to come in the post LLM world.<p>While I understand where they are coming from (theft is bad), we risk stifling innovation by siloing off access to data for training better models.<p>OTOH, the current precedent isn't helping. Big AI labs are scraping and training on whatever they can get their hands on and big social platforms are charging insane costs for access to their APIs.<p>All of this seems completely backwards to me. The data originates from users, yet it's the platform owners fighting for control over it.
