Unless you live under a rock on Airstrip One it is quite obvious that our favourite meeting places to socialise have closed.
The loss of the great English Pub is a disservice to society.
Throughout my 20's and 30's there were hundreds of pubs in my local area.
It was where all of us met members of the opposite sex, learned to play pool and darts, arranged nights out, talked about the week at work, talked about football, offered jobs, smoked a joint outside and learned to drink socially.
Of course there were the odd fights on Friday and Satuday nights but this is also how men learn about being men.
The youth of today have not had this wonderful experience.
Most of the old pubs are now local supermarkets or burger joints.
