McDs customers mostly know what they want: _cheap_ burgers, fries, and sodas. If one wanted healthy food, they'd go elsewhere. In the area I live in, very few want a salad from McDs, they instead go to sweetgreen, tender greens, moonbowls or any # of salad specialty shops around here. If one wants a good juicy burger, they go elsewhere also. L.A. is not short on great burger and salad joints.
For many people, McDs will never be equated with healthy food no matter what they try. That ship sailed a long time ago.
The salads here in Spain are not bad actually. Especially the chicken honey mustard one. I'm sure it's not the healthiest option but for that one doesn't go to McDonald's anyway.
But really for decent salads one goes to honest greens here.
I remember (years ago) having a mcdonalds salad, like a salad shaker. I actually like the idea.
I also remember once when mcdonalds sold pasta. It only happened for a short time and then it was gone. Probably a test.
