I dont know if this is linked.
My friend askes me to install Tutamail on her phone recently.
She has been getting loads of spam and unsolicited mail on Gmail.
Initially downloaded it from the play store.
During installation a pop up appeared and asked me to upload the email address and the password of the new account.
So I installed F-droid to see if it was a glitch with the play store.
No! the phone again asked for the email address and password to be uploaded.
On both occassions if I clicked no to the pop up the install failed.
So there I was installing an encrypted email app on her phone and googly wanted to know the email address and the password and would not let me install it unless I shared the new encrypted email address and password with them.
I'm a custom rom man myself so have never come accross this before.
