Reminds me of the cat that used to join me at work, in an office, from a nearby house. He did not sit like a loaf, but he did behave like an AI.
He was able to work the computer by stretching out, to nudge the mouse. The moving cursor would catch his eye, causing him to move the mouse again. This would continue for a minute or so, and, although he was reacting to the mouse moving, it looked like it was the other way round, as if he was moving the mouse and following it with his head movements.
I got into the habit of locking my screen due to him doing things, however, he had this knack of holding down the print screen key. On both Ubuntu and Windows (of the era), this worked to 'freeze' the computer, requiring a reboot.
So I started adding 'QA Tester' to his resume, along with pest control, greeter, neighbourhood watch, security guard, food taster and companion animal.
Everyone given the tour by HR was taken to see him on my desk, and, he worked his hours, to be there before nine and leaving promptly at 5.30. He could trick anyone to get past about four doors to be at my desk before I arrived.
He never loafed around and also went on adventures, a true local character. I never fed him, however, at his home, they had staff, and someone to get him expensive king sized prawns, which had to be bought fresh, daily.
Sadly I have no pictures of him in the loaf position but hundreds of other ones! I wish I could find one to test with.
