A few months ago, I shared a link to a YouTube video about 4k ATSC, which resulted in a healthy discussion.
I was recently catching up on videos from that popular YouTube creator and he says that his account was demonetized due to traffic from Hacker News.
His quote at 02:44: "Moving forward, if any of you engage in the Hacker News forum, please do not share a direct link to any of my videos on it."
If you'd like to see the video, copy/paste the following on YouTube's search: "Antenna Man Update On My Channel Being Demonetized for Invalid Traffic".
He asked that his content not be linked here, so please don't link to it in the comments.
> he says that his account was demonetized due to traffic from Hacker News
There is no evidence to support this.
I'm going to save people time and link the videos:
first video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btAmQyNXG2Y
update video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7EPGngExZw
Also he's claiming HN is a "weird foreign website" with "servers based outside of the United States" which is wrong
My jaw dropped when I saw the screen shot of my post as what demonetized his channel.
Could it be the AI zeroing in on the word "Hacker"?
I feel like I did something wrong, but I don't think I did?
Maybe if he chose to engage with us instead of literally pointing fingers, he'd understand us better, learn how to evaluate policies of the platforms on which he participates, and learn what is somewhat common knowledge here - that if your income is dependent on a single 3rd party, you should not consider it stable income.
Well, you are more than welcome to my videos - here’s the latest one.
https://youtu.be/a0D3m-MnaOg
