This really highlights the issue with walled gardens and app stores that require some human approval. A country can pass regulation that requires official app stores to ban privacy apps in their country.<p>With a computer (especially an OS like Linux), a person can download whatever program they want. They can use whatever encryption protocol they want.
Do people in Russia have access to social media outside of the Country ? I know they are trying to wall the country off, but I thing they are way behind China.<p>Will be hard to monitor sites outside of Russia.
This isn't about posting, it's really about controlling access and accountability. The SIM issue is the one that should be causing the concern.
