Make the world move faster

1 pointsby rvivekalmost 13 years ago
Have you ever wondered what it takes to make the entire world move faster? For instance, if something is expected to take 10 years to build, what can be done to make it to 5?
If you can acquire skills faster and companies/visionaries can find you quicker than the current timeframe (you know how long it takes to hire a developer or a designer), things automatically move faster. You definitely don't need 4 years of school to become a good programmer.
This boils down to creating a place where the entire talent of the world resides. Imagine a room where the top problem solvers hangout and they come by every single day. The value of the room is unimaginably high. The possibilities are endless - from forming a close knit community where people can learn from each other (like codecademy/treehouse?) to connecting them with the right opportunities (like interviewstreet?), solving real problems and many more. The crux being, build the world's largest talent hub.
We're starting off creating a site for programmers/problem-solvers with components and challenges that attract them to come back every single day. We've a great roadmap, a very ambitious goal and top tier investors backing us. We'll need talented folks to build a talent hub - this is like inception :)
About us: We're a small team based in Bay Area. We've had 3-4 failed ideas prior, have gone bankrupt in the past and made (make) tons of mistakes. But, we learn. Ship, measure, learn, iterate. That's how we've been living for the last 2 years and will continue to grow and move fast.
Heads-up: You'll be an early member in our startup journey. As you might know, it is not meant for everyone and the ride is really hard and strenuous. Highs are extreme highs and lows are real lows. The founders (we) are extreme workaholics and absolutely nothing matters more than building this platform.
If you're interested in talking to us, send us a mail to moveworldfaster@gmail.com with your programming profile and the biggest failure you've faced in life till now and how you overcame it.
