There are books so interesting that I just want to keep reading in the curiosity of what'll happen next. People read for hours in one sitting.
I read Kane and Abel for like 5 hours straight and finished the book in 3 days, nice book if you are looking for a new book.
I wonder which book caused you this and how fast and long were you reading it? Don't forget to mention some crazy stories if you have...
That feeling just hits different.
I loved Sherlock Holmes. So gripping and evocative. Couldn't wait to get back to reading after lunch. Felt like skipping food just to keep reading. I liked this boxed set. So cheap and lightweight. Cover is great too. The intro in this edition "On the Significance of Boswells" by Loren D. Estleman is so memorable. I miss those times.
https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/225999/the-complete...
ISBN : 9780553328257
I read Cormac McCarthy’s “The Road” in one sitting (except for bathroom and food/beverage breaks). This was in law school when I needed an escape from studying on a Friday afternoon/evening/night. I don’t remember how long it took, but reading a book from start to finish in one session was a great experience — especially with that novel. I felt like I was there on the characters’ apocalyptic journey.
Canticle for Liebowitz. I was at a beach rental on vacation and it was on the shelf. Started about 7 pm and didn’t stop until I was finished, about 4 am.
The first time I read "Your Money or Your Life" a long time ago, I stayed up most of the night reading it, because I felt like it was going to change my life and was really fascinating. If a book feels like it's the answer to all my problems then I end up reading it nonstop.
40 years ago I drove to Port Grimaud, just round the coast from Saint Tropez in the South of France, for a holiday with my mates.
I read Lord of the rings in 3 x 12 hour sittings over three days while I was sun bathing.
