The core issue is that we need to know that our code works, and we’ve lumped together a variety of practices and put them under this banner. We can look for some common strands between them but they are hard to find.&quot;<p>Even just this opening already resonates a lot. I feel similarly about the term &quot;QA&quot; where what we mean by testing (and&#x2F;or QA) can often refer to a number of different tools, practices, and even people. And I feel like there&#x27;s often a sort of kneejerk reaction around these topics before it&#x27;s even clear what is actually meant by them.
