A "blouse" in South Asian culture is something to wear with a saree/lehenga and in Western culture it's a top or a shirt. There are several differences and nuances in ethnic clothing and items that existing platforms like Depop or Vinted do not cater to. I launched the MVP for a C2C marketplace that taps into this frustration, a dedicated space for culturally relevant items that contributes to sustainability via the circular economy. Most South Asians do not re-wear their ethnic clothing and PurvX allows them to monetize them. I've also enjoyed watching non-South Asians use the platform successfully.
For anyone wondering - PurvX is derived from the Sanskrit word "Purva," meaning 'previous' or 'old' or simply "East" and the X is representative of the marketplace eXchange.
It's pronounced PurV-ex not Perv-ex :)
This looks great!
And to post on HN is smart - there has to be quite a few Silicon Valley Folks who have a lot of nice garments in this space.
(surely you can get it in front of the eyes of some people who went to the Ambani Wedding - as there has to be a glut of high-end Desi Garments from that crowd that would do well on an app/site such as this.
https://wwd.com/fashion-news/designer-luxury/ambani-wedding-...
EDIT: Also make sure you post it to Reddit - as ever since pre-IPO China Money was injected into Reddit - they have made a huge push and strides into India. https://old.reddit.com/r/ABCDesis/
