I attempted to sign up for Vercel today using my protonmail account, and was flagged on the sign up page with a message that I would need to email registration@vercel.com to proceed. I emailed them asking to register, and they responded a day later saying I'd need to sign up with a different email provider. I'm not sure why they would go out of their way to flag proton?
Hey, I’m on the Vercel team. We don’t block Protonmail, however we do have different services used to help prevent abuse and malicious signups.
They look at signals to determine whether the email needs a second review, which is why it’s suggesting to reach out to the provided email. Once you do that, we can get it approved and moving along. Sorry about the friction here – we’re continuing to tune the heuristics.
1. Poor of Vercel to block Proton.
2. Ditch Vercel.
3. Always wise to buy your own domain and then add that to your mail provider, so you are not locked in.
One insurance provider and a bank in my country blocks Protonmail. Both uses Trend Micro as their firewall.
My bank was kind enough to whitelist my email. The insurance provider is still clueless.
