Seriously unions should just start requiring annual pay increases and bonus the match the equivalent for executives - if the company is making enough to double executive compensation it can afford to double the compensation of the people doing actual work. If it can’t afford the latter then clearly executive compensation does not get that either. To be clear I mean total compensation including stock grants, options, equity, handcuffs and parachutes. If the company can afford to pay an executive multiple times there annual income to leave involuntarily it can afford the same when laying off the people doing actual work.
