It's 2024, and while GPT-4 has been around for over a year, Alexa and Siri still aren't LLM-based. Despite all the buzz around AI, only about 4% of internet users actively use ChatGPT—200 million weekly users out of 5.5 billion internet users.<p>We know Apple is planning on integrating GPT-4 later this year, but did you catch the demo? It’s hidden behind some weird approval interface with Siri.<p>Amazon just announced Alexa will use Claude before the end of the year.<p>We should expect Apple or Amazon to ship something great, but what if they don't?<p>I’m left wondering, is it worth building an AI Home Assistant in 2024?<p>Well I'm doing it.
