The article is about the luxury EVs. It would seem to me that there is loads of demand for cheap, easy, low maintenance transportation for people to get around their part of town or to make short trips. EVs are good fit for this sort of case. Too many of the cars being sold today are being marketed to those that find the extras a minor expense (including the taxes, maintenance, parking, fuel, etc.).
