Ask HN: Recommendations for Physical Therapists in Vancouver (Or Online) for RSI

3 pointsby wzyoi8 months ago
TL;DR about me: I'm a 28-year-old Ukrainian who has been making money developing and using CS market bots* for the past 10 years. Due to depression, anxiety, and RSI, I've been unproductive for 95% of my life but still managed to save up $200k from my endeavors.
Right now, my mental health is okay, but RSI is killing my productivity. It started right before I left Ukraine before the war in 2022 and has continued since. My diagnoses have varied: tenosynovitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis and golfer's elbow. But the doctors were not good because there were no good options in Georgia (the country) where I lived before, so I received no conclusive diagnosis. Physical therapy in Georgia helped, but it wasn't good enough as not all issues were addressed.
Six months ago, I moved to Vancouver, and it has the best health care options I've ever had in my life. But with so many bad experiences, I am afraid to make a bad choice again. Hence, I am asking for recommendations. I need a specialist to diagnose, evaluate my body, and address my recovery needs. It can be either an RSI specialist or a good physical therapist—even if they can't provide a specific diagnosis but can help fix my body. Online consultations are good too.
*Explanation of a "CS Market Bot": It's an automated software program that exploits price differences for virtual cosmetic items, known as "skins," across different marketplaces in Counter-Strike 2—a popular online game developed by Valve Corporation. In Counter-Strike 2, players can acquire skins that serve as decorative enhancements for in-game weapons and characters. These skins have real-world monetary value and are actively traded among players, with the total market valued at around $4 billion. A market bot identifies price discrepancies between various marketplaces, buying skins at a lower price in one marketplace and selling them at a higher price in another, thereby generating profit through arbitrage without human intervention.

I’m in Toronto so can’t provide any help. I also suffer from hand pain but have neglected it for a long time (getting a Kinesis Advatage keyboard helped as well as taking long breaks).
Wishing you good health !

I learned so much in these 10 years and have lots of opportunities, but no matter what I do, I need a healthy body first
