I have a handful of legacy WPEngine-hosted clients that I'd like to relocate, given the recent legal happenings. These are clients that want the safety net of a third-party host, rather than my own self-hosted servers.
At the risk of asking a Reddit-esque question, where do you host your Wordpress sites, please? Any data points or anecdotes about your experience are welcomed. Thank you.
For WordPress specifically, I loved Pantheon.io. It's very, very good and makes working with WordPress actually nice, but it's also very expensive. For cheaper hosting, check out Cloudways and Gridpane, which are bring your own cloud WP management dashboards.
You can of course also host on WordPress.com. But I'd probably avoid Automattic until they get this sorted out. The drama is kinda nuts.
I'm way into self hosting personal stuff.
If I had to choose, Iv heard good things about hetzner for cheap vps/cloud provider.
Unsure if aws is on the table for you. This really depends on what country your looking for and what features you want. Do you just want a barmetal with Linux on it, or do you want to run a docker container.
I'm working on this: https://www.agiler.io Email in bio if you want to discuss specifics.
