I loved code reviews the way they used to be done. They were instructive and informative and made me a better programmer.<p>But once code review stopped being done in person and started being done online and asynchronously, almost all of the value of them was lost to me. Now, they're mostly an item of bureaucratic busywork. I miss the old, useful method of doing them.<p>The example the article gives doesn't seem to be an improvement to me.
