Hello, I am a High School Teacher in The Northeast United States. I have a student who is quite good at programming. Going on to college to pursue a Computer Science Degree is not what he is interested in doing right now. He expressed an interest in going to a coding boot camp. I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a good camp that might possibly lead to a job. I am open to other suggestions as well. Just trying to guide this student in the right direction as he is probably the first in his family to go on to any higher education. Thank you.

He will be much better off in the long term.<p>I have worked with several people who have gone to coding boot camps. None of them have been able to handle the day-to-day responsibilities of a working programmer.<p>I think these coding boot camps are a waste of money.
I would strongly encourage to pursue formal CS coursework even at a community college. Most coding bootcamps are very profit driven and not really interested in the needs of their students. He will be much better off in the long term.
