Getting your money back in these scams is super rare. Happy to see someone got theirs back. I've had two friends fall victim to this scam - they were convinced by people whom they had built a friendship with to invest into these scam coins and lost a few thousand dollars in it.
I scammed the scammers when I was in-between jobs. I told them to click on a link to get access to my money and it was a fake Gmail login screen telling them they needed to re-authenticate.<p>I got their password and access to their account. It was filled with images of passports and drivers licenses.<p>The sad part is that 99% of the people scammed were old men that were lonely after their wife had passed. I tried to warn all of them through email to stop sending money, but most refused to listen.<p>I eventually just changed the password and locked them out of their own account (the scammer, not the victims).<p>Hopefully it saved a few people...
