I grew up with a Scout when I was a kid and have fond memories of it - and its nearly unstoppable durability and offroad ability, and from what they're showing here it seems like they are doing right by the Scout heritage, and not just slapping the logo onto a masculine looking electric minivan.<p>Online speculation was that this was just going to be a badge engineered Rivian, but it seems like a much heavier duty, much more seriously offroad focused design, which honestly looks pretty great. The gasoline range extender also seems like a killer feature for serious offroading, as well as the real diff locks, recovery points, ladder frame, etc.<p>I also love that they did away with touch screens and went to real buttons for everything. IMO touch screens should be illegal in cars, for the same reason holding your phone already is.
