I(Australian) am a bit anxious about driving in the city in US. Was thinking if I can do some practice using a basic VR setup like those racing simulation. Anyone has experience setting something up like this?
There are games like:
- City Car Driving: https://store.steampowered.com/app/493490/City_Car_Driving/
- BeamNG Drive: https://store.steampowered.com/app/284160/BeamNGdrive/
- American Truck Simulator: https://store.steampowered.com/app/270880/American_Truck_Sim... (see loooong VR thread at https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=330624)
that might give you a rough feel, but they are not meant to be driving certifications or anything like that. If you're going to be here in the US for an extended amount of time, maybe take a driving course from a local instructor?
Driving on the right (if "incorrect") side of the road would scare me to death, though... that, and stop signs and roundabouts... =/ Good luck!
I have no idea, but that sounds pretty cool. Here's what I could find.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2599450/EarthKart_Google_...
https://www.mapchannels.com/AnimatedRouteMaps.aspx
via
https://old.reddit.com/r/GoogleMaps/comments/8034mo/are_ther...
Have you looked into GTAV? You could put in cheat codes to prevent hostiles if you need to focus on your driving. It has a first person view mode, but I don't know how the VR support is for it, but it does have a huge modding community.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Theft_Auto_V
