Ask HN: Do you trust Instacart less since they added creepy AI stuff?

2 pointsby cryptoz7 months ago
I just saw a recipe in the app that was claiming to be from a person who recently had a medical diagnosis and they were making this dish from an Asian American influence.
At the bottom it says it was AI, in small print. The recipe is unrelated to the picture which is also of really disgusting looking slop.
I am shocked that Instacart seems to not even review their AI output.
Every time I open the app I actively feel my appetite just evaporate. Like the food pictures from AI that they use look suuuuuuper gross.
Why don’t they even use a higher quality image generator? Like this is will smith eating spaghetti level of unappealing.
It’s so confusing.
