I’m very curious whether the outcome will significantly change your plans to build product — and how the differences in policy will change the startup ecosystem.
In the sense the external environment can influence business decisions, or even change the nature of a business... maybe. At a strategic level.
Depends on what you do.
To determine how much what you do might depend on external factors, there's no harm in doing a PEST analysis [1] once in a while. Perhaps combine it with some other tools, mind tools really that can help spark or focus reflective thinking.
[1] https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/PEST_analysis
Project wise probably little, though I'm sure hiring will be affected by economic conditions set by economic policy. More materially, I'm a less productive coder when I'm filled with anxiety and dread from headlines everyday.
What differences in policy? I haven't heard from either side that sounds like coherent policy, unless "we must win" describes a policy.
In any case the outcome will almost certainly have no affect on any of my plans.
Short of some unexpected major disaster resulting from it (such as civil unrest), I don't see how the results of the election would affect my business or product plans.
