Tracing paper and a light table enabled us to iterate on Ames' <i>Draw 50</i> series without the discouragement of drawing a misshapen form at the end of labored steps.<p>Cars, birds, and airplanes fill the transparent sheet, are taped up. I see the Concorde I quit after a first draft; decades later, reappears to me intact (with only some waver of line), colored in, next to passenger airliners and a dozen vehicles.<p>My hope is seeing the final form encourages continued practice, and so far it's true. Lines can become confident later. Even architects use projectors, clippings, and other "shortcuts" to fill in the gaps.
