Early in the war, I remember they used to use regular off the shelf drones to drop the payload, then later started using FPV drones in a kamikaze way for the speed factor. FPV drones are basically assembled like LEGO with some soldering skills, and even training is done through simulations.<p>That being said, many robotics engineers around the world have an unwritten oath to never weaponize their creations for offensive purposes. I know many engineers who would be happy to customize a UGV (unmanned ground vehicle) to diffuse a bomb remotely for example, but they would refuse if the robots were to be used to kill a human being, regardless of their political views. Otherwise, we would be living in a dystopian hell very quickly because these robots would be tele-operated to oppress people even outside of wartime or war zones.
