I was born/raised Bay Area. My parents are boomers and cuisine was watch leave it to beaver.
I’ve learned to cook, do some things well, some things not so well.
The joke with my wife is she can cook four things well.
Her kid and partner are into Asian fusion, dumplings would be the base. I can do Italian cooking well, but both want to learn and delegate.
Any recommendations for holiday gift card/class planning - plans into the new year?
I think deferring to a third party and supporting is the best way to help them level up, it’d be the kiddo, her partner, and her mom.
Culinary Institute of America at Napa runs bootcamps. It is pricey but worth it if you want life-long skill.
https://www.ciafoodies.com/cia-california-copia-classes/
There are several cuisine specific classes in SF downtown. They are listed in eventbrite.com.
